Job description
At Peak Technology, we develop and produce high-performance solutions for motorsport and aerospace. Our products power Formula 1 cars, launch rockets into space, accompany satellites in orbit, and win the 24 Hours of Le Mans. What drives us? The next tenth of a second, the next orbit. If you’re ready to push boundaries, join our team.
YOUR TASKS
You will analyse complex composite structures and pressure vessels for demanding space applications. Using state of the art simulation methods and in depth knowledge of material behaviour, you will assess the structural integrity and safety of our components, from numerical analysis to validation against experimental data.
Set up and perform finite element simulations of CFRP pressure vessels and spaceflight structures, with a particular focus on Type 3 Composite Overwrapped Pressure Vessels (COPVs) with an aluminium liner
Apply advanced structural mechanics and fracture mechanics principles to assess structural performance, safety and damage tolerance
Analyse the material behaviour and potential failure mechanisms of composite materials and metals under static and cyclic loading
Compare numerical and analytical results with experimental data, and calibrate and validate simulation models accordingly
Plan, coordinate and evaluate test campaigns for material characterisation and model validation
Prepare clear, traceable and technically sound analysis reports for internal use and customer delivery
Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing and testing departments
Present analysis results and provide technical support during customer meetings, design reviews and technical discussions
Develop tools for data processing and analysis workflow automation, for example using Python
